An empowering and gentle educative support service for women during
their breastfeeding journeys
Holistic Lactation Consulting’s philosophy centers around applying a supportive, considered and individualized service for women and families throughout their breastfeeding journey.
Using evidence-based, hands-off techniques, Holistic Lactation Consulting works with families to establish programs that promote and continue strong breastfeeding connections.
The term holistic is defined as “focusing on the whole of something, not just a part,” and this is precisely how Holistic Lactation Consulting frames its practice. Combining empowerment with knowledge and care continuity allows women to establish sound breastfeeding skills, promote a long and successful breastfeeding journey, and troubleshoot breastfeeding issues if and when they arise.
Research indicates that breastfeeding rates in the community currently fall below those recommended by the World Health Organisation. With essential support, education and skills imparted onto women by qualified practitioners who understand the science, techniques and ongoing benefits of breastfeeding, these rates may dramatically improve and so too, the physical and psychological health and wellbeing of mothers and babies.

"I am forever grateful for Jess and all her advice and Breastfeeding knowledge. as a first time mother, I had a lot of attachment issues and became damaged. Jess gave me the skills and confidence to continue feeding, and here we are 9 months in and still loving the ease of breastfeeding. Thank you so much Jess"
Meagan, first time mum
"I have always felt passionate about breastfeeding and being able to give my baby the benefits provided through my milk.
After my daughter was born, I knew how important it was to make sure my attachment/feeding was going well. So I sought the help of Jess very early on.
She performed a lactation consult at my bedside while I was still in the maternity ward and she used a hands-off technique to gently guide me and my baby to a comfortable and relaxing feed.
Jess also took the time to educate my partner about normal newborn breastfeeding behaviour.
Through Jess, my partner and I both gained the confidence we needed to have and an empowering start to our breastfeeding journey."
Claire, first time mum
"Jess was fantastic, I really struggled with attachment and pain. I came home from hospital not breastfeeding but desperately wanting to. With Jess’ great communication skills and knowledge she listened to my problem and over the phone easily identified my issue. She gave me clear and easy instructions and within 24 hours I was breastfeeding with ease.
Jess continued to follow up to ensure we were still ok and gave further help and tips to maximise the effectiveness of my breastfeeding. My breastfeeding journey became not only successful but something I absolutely love. My baby and I have such a special bond. I am so grateful to have had such a passionate and skilled lactation consultant to assist me in my breastfeeding journey. Thank you Jess."
